Introduction

Born in 2003, RCJ’s early focus has been providing humanitarian Services to poor and needy including increased access to education for low level working women deprived of school education, and support to a rural school through provision of sanitation facilities and distribution of school bags and educational materials to poor students in Chhampi VDC of Lalitpur district. Rotary Club of Jawalakhel strives to be a club with services based on ground realities in terms of needs, priorities and resources of the community in line with development goals and priorities of Gon, and RI District 3292 mission and principles.

The Strategic Plan is designed to focus RCJ’s approach to carry out RI programmatic themes in a more effective and sustainable manner. The purpose of Strategic Plan is to base RCJs activities upon a perceived need and provide direction and guidance to make its services truly meaningful, based on local realities and resources. RCJ dedicates this Strategic Plan to the socially, economically, geographically and physically disadvantaged individuals, families and communities of Lalitpur and Dolakha districts.

RCJ Vision

RCJ seeks to create a community of hope, social justice where quality of life has been improved and people live in dignity and security.

  • Enabling people to help themselves
  • Providing economic and educational opportunities and e-technology/information
  • Promoting equity and social justice.

Programming Principles

  • Seek Sustainable Development

RCJ will address underlying causes of poverty, illiteracy and ill health, develop and use approaches to ensure lasting impact of the program and fundamental improvements in the lives of the people of the community with whom RCJ works.

  • Work with Partners

RCJ will build strategic alliance with likeminded groups, institutions and development agencies who are able to adopt realistic programming approaches and who are committed to reduce poverty through resource mobilization, policy change, enforcement and action plans.

  • Promote Empowerment

RCJ will stand in solidarity with socially and economically disadvantaged people and communities, and enable and equip them to take control of their resources, lives, responsibilities and aspirations.

In keeping with the objectives of the Rotary International

RCJ Programming Principles will focus on:

    • Service to the community irrespective for caste, creed and color.
    • Promote high ethical standards, and advance world understanding, good will and peace through its fellowship of business, professional and community leaders.

  • Community Service

Community Service is in the heart of the Rotary Program. Service Above self is the declared motto of the rotary. The RCJ programs are thus geared towards service to humanity. In particular, community services are aimed at serving people and communities which are socially and economically disadvantaged, physically challenged and deprived of basic human needs and facilities such as, food education, water supply, sanitation, health services and facilities including opportunities for training and income generation

Rotary Services can instill hope and confidence in deprived people at large for their bright future and better quality of life. The RCJ will serve the needy people and communities by lending support to GoN services/facilities/endeavors and NGOs, or reaching out the communities directly sponsoring activities like education/literacy, income generation, health, water supply sanitation facilities etc. etc.

  • Resource Mobilization

The RCJ will attempt to generate different avenues to mobilize financial resources in new and innovative ways. In this respect RCJ will explore to generate resources for program activities through development of proposals to RI support as well as from sources such as "Matching Grants" and other individuals, clube, potential donors and fund raising activities.

We pursue our mission with integrity and compassion because rural people of Lalitpur and Dolakha deserve nothing less. To start with RCJ has adopted Dalchok, (Lalitpur) and Suspa Dolkha Village Development Committees to translate its vision, mission and programs.
